There are currently 3 copies of some kind of river available
from an abbreviated press run of 32. Japanese stab binding, black
bookcloth hard cover with 4x6 color print and marbled inside covers,
with text on archival, pale grey royal fiber paper. 81 pages. Edition
limited to 50 32 numbered and signed copies.
The book contains three long stories. Their protagonists are (click each for an excerpt):
- Asa, a female-to-male transsexual in the process of transitioning. In the beginning of the story, he has just returned to his ex-girlfriend Emily, who he inexplicably left two years ago. The story follows the re-development of their relationship and his transition.
- Gordon, who has lived with his mother in Walton, Nebraska until the age of 30, and then moves to Chicago when he's casually offered a job.
- Miriam, a middle-aged woman divorced two years ago, with teenaged twins and a mother dying of cancer who has recently moved in with her. Miriam, who never worked outside the home, now works as a ticket-taker in an aquarium.
